Floyd Rietman, age 89, passed away on January 29th, 2019 in Bellingham. Floyd was born on September 16th, 1929 in Lynden to Arend and Jennie (Roosendaal) Rietman. He married Alice Soderquist on February 26, 1954 at First Baptist Church in Bellingham. Floyd was a custom home builder and owned and operated Bellingham Construction Company for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and he loved to hunt, fish and golf. Floyd was a good Christian man, a hard worker, and loving family man. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Clarence Rietman and his son-in-law Robert Boyles. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Alice, his children Randy (Mandy) Rietman, Steve (Sandi) Rietman and Lisa Boyles, grandchildren Stephanie (Tim) Butorac and Aaron Rietman and great-granddaughter Mila Butorac. A Service or Remembrance will be held at First Baptist Church, 110 Flora St. in Bellingham, at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 6th. Reception following at the church. Pastor Jeff Flint will be officiating. The family would like to thank the loving caregivers of Highgate and Whatcom Hospice.
