Frieda H. Parks, age 85 passed away peacefully on April 28, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 26, 1925 in Lamoure County, North Dakota to Frederick Weight and Martha Weight-Baier. Frieda married George R. Parks on July 31, 1945 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Spokane, Washington. They settled in North Plains, Oregon and raised two children. Frieda served as a homemaker and George as a candy maker for Sweethearts & VandDuyn Chocolate Shop in Portland, Oregon. They shared a love for vacationing on the Oregon Coast, camping, fishing, golfing and spending time with family. Frieda will be greatly missed by her son Larry Parks, daughter Vivian/husband Milo Hallmark, granddaughter Valerie Hallmark, Melissa Hallmark, great grandchildren Ethan and Jordan Hallmark, sister Ellen/husband Vern Risseeuw, sister Delores Thompson, brother Ronald Weight, brother-in-law Richard Parks/wife Corrine, sister-in-law Edith Miller/husband Bud, and sister-in-law Marge Knapp and several nieces and nephews whom she adored. Frieda will be reunited in heaven with her parents Frederick & Martha Weight, husband George R. Parks, brother Elmer Weight, grandson Adam Hallmark and her sister in Christ, Beverly McKissick. Frieda was loved by all who knew her and her strong faith and angelic spirit inspired others to join her in her close walk with the Lord. A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 858 West Smith Road, in Bellingham on May 14th at 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
