You was always my favorite uncle, and I treasure the times that we have had together. The last 10-15 years we have not had much time together, and I’m sorry about that. You will be missed by us, but you are going to a better place. May god bless you, and rest in peace. Love, Kathy and Ole

We always enjoyed family gatherings with Geert and Erna, especially birthday celebrations when they would sing Happy Birthday in Danish. Geert was larger than life and he loved his family…we will miss him.

I’m translating this letter for my aunt (my dads sister) To my favorite brother, I have so much to thank you for Geert. For all the times Erik and I have visited you and Erna, and for all the “Happy Hours” we have had together. There was nobody that could make a cocktail better than you. I remeber our first visit to the U.S. in 1973. That was your 50th. birthday. Erik and you were both bakers. You have made many ‘Kransekager” together, including the one for you and Ernas Golden Anniversary you celebrated in Denmark at Sevel Kro. It was a beautiful fest and a beautiful anniversary couple. I also think about our times in Hemet. We were there many times including Christmas one year. I often think and will never forget the wonderful trip the four of us had to Hawaii. Geert, you will be missed a lot because you were a special brother. Nobody could have had a better brother. Therefore we will always remember you. We loved you so much. From your siblings in Denmark. I’m translating this from Danish to English for my cousin, her husband and son. For my dear uncle. The first time I met you I was 5 yrs. old. It was the begining of the 1960's. You came to visit us at Kirkealle in Skive. I was just taken by your outgoing warmth and smile. I insisted that you get to sleep in my room. You and your family have always meant so much to me and our family. I remember when the package with the Christmas gift came by ship from “America”. I would have butterflies because it was always something special and exciting. I’ll remember the many wonderful times we had together when you and aunt Erna were in Denmark. Like Christmas and New Year, or your 50th. birthday fest at Tambohus and the Golden Anniversary fest at Sevel Kro. You did everything you could to make my family and my vacations to the US unforgetable. With warmest thoughts to the family. For ever in our minds.. Susanne, Finn and Morten
