Gene Hamm, wife of Carl Hamm, passed away Tuesday, December 24th, 2013 at home in Bellingham. She was born May 1, 1927 in Cuba, NY to Max and Bernice Williams. She married Carl Hamm on July 15, 1949 in Allegany, NY. They moved to Bellingham for the opening of the Mobil Refinery in 1954. Gene worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital for over 20 years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary where she was past-president. She was preceded in death by her brother James Williams. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Carl Hamm, son Jim (wife Tracy) Hamm and their children Jamie and Christopher, daughter Jeanine Hamm Whidbee and her daughter Chanel, and many loving friends. The family wishes to thank Whatcom Hospice for all of their care and kindness. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home from 2-4 PM on Sunday, December 29th. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 119 Texas St. in Bellingham at 2 PM on Monday, December 30th, followed by a reception at the church.
