Georgene Robin Reid

Georgene “Genie” Reid, age 69, passed away peacefully in Bellingham, with her five sons at her side, on Thursday, June 2, 2022. She was born to Robert and Grace (Rocke) Reid on January 4, 1953 in Seattle.
Genie graduated from Sehome High School in 1971 and lived most of her life in Whatcom County. She enjoyed working alongside her father for years in the family business, Reid Boiler Works. Genie loved to garden, cook for others, and spend time with her grandkids. She was fiercely independent and incredibly proud of her family.
Genie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Reid, sister Christine Thompson, brother-in-law James “Casey” Thompson, niece Michelle Grace Fay and her grandmother Ronnie “Gummie” Cannon, who she was especially fond of. She is survived by her mother, Grace Reid, five sons, Mike (Melanie) Zabel, Rob (Kayla) Zabel, Jeff (Hannah) Zabel, Cody (Hannah) Reid and Andrew Reid (Marissa Vasquez), grandchildren Piper, Grayson, Channing, Mack, Reid, Mosley, Hudson, Gracelynn and Callum, sisters Susan (Jim) Fay, Barbara Thompson, Karen Reid-Allen (Craig), and Melanie (John) Neate, brother Rick (Tammy) Zimmer, and many relatives and friends. A celebration of Genie’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thursday, June 9th at 11 AM. Reception following. You may share memories with the family at www.westfordfuneralhome.com .
