Lifelong Bellingham resident Grace Repanich, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 28th at home in the company of her family. She was born April 14, 1923 to Mike and Leoan Wehmeyer. Grace worked as a beautician and for many years in the children’s department of the Bon Marche. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, volunteered at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital and was an active participant in her Tuesday and Thursday pool exercise classes. In her earlier years she and her husband Frank enjoyed bowling and Grace was on many league champion teams. Grace had three great loves in her life – her husband, her family and her garden. Grace’s gardens were a source of inspiration and beauty to her neighbors and family. No matter where she lived she always had a beautiful garden. (When you get to Heaven be sure to look for the beautiful flowers. Grace will be there tending to God’s garden.) Grace was preceded death by her husband Frank Repanich and her sister Avon Dickeson. She is survived by daughter Pam (Ron) Corbin of Draper, Utah, sons Mick (Diana) Repanich of Bellevue and Frank Repanich of Bellingham; grandchildren Eddie, Ryan, Emily, Chad, Tricia, Nicola and Laurel and nine great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice. SERVICE UPDATE: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Fri., June 6 at 12:10 pm. A graveside service will be held at Bayview City Cemetery on Friday, June 6 at 2 pm. Fr. Joseph Altenhofen will officiate.
