Helen Griffin, age 98, passed away on February 20, 2024 in Bellingham, Washington. Helen was born in Chehalis, WA on January 26, 1926 to parents Lefteris and Stavroula (Geika) Peters. She married Dewey Griffin in 1967 and helped him run the Cadillac dealership until his passing in 1981.
For many years, she was the treasurer at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, and she also belonged to Philoptochos and Soroptimist. Helen was a loving “Yiayia” who was soft, warm, courageous, bold, fun, and the ultimate hostess. Her family was the biggest blessing in her life, and she will be remembered for her support, her strength, and her faith. She was always there for her family, no matter what. They were blessed with her unconditional love — she was their rock. She was a truly remarkable woman whose qualities were instilled and passed on to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and generations to come.
Helen is survived by her daughters Kathy Capp and Voula (Tim) Parks, grandchildren Cade, Cole (Kenneth), Kallee (Justin), Loree, Jaimee (Gabe), Ryan (Michele), Kevin, Tiffany (Dave), and Jennifer, great-grandchildren Jaxon (Austin), Griffin, Robby, Levi, Zakhary, Rylee, Chloe, Emily, Paris, Penelope, and Brooklyn, stepsons Don (June) Griffin and Mike (Beverley) Griffin, and many loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Griffin, great-grandson Benny Capp, sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Alexander Stasinos, and nephew Harry “Bobby” Stasinos.

A Trisagion prayer service will be held on Tuesday, February 27th at 6:00pm at Westford Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Bellingham on Wednesday, February 28th at 11:00am. Committal following at Bayview Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church.
