Helen Schilke, age 85 of Bellingham, WA passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Everson, WA. She was born March 20, 1928 in Columbia, SD to William and Ida Schliebe. She married Obert Schilke on January 10, 1948. Together they ran their family farm for over 22 years. She had a strong faith in the Lord. She was an active member and sang in the choir of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and later Trinity Lutheran Church. Helen enjoyed the outdoors and traveled around the United States. They took a special trip to Jerusalem. Her greatest loves in life were her church, her family and her friends. Helen was preceded in death by sisters Eleanor, Theresa and Delila and brothers Rinehardt, Gearhardt and Delbert. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Obert, sister Esther Gostovick, children Ken (Marsha) Schilke of Everson, Terrie (Dave) May of Bellingham and Tim (Linda) Schilke of Ventura, CA, seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank A Loving Heart Adult Family Home and their caregivers for the loving care they gave to Helen. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 132 E. 13th St. in Port Angeles at 11 AM on Thursday, Feb. 13th. Reception following. Committal following at Mt. Angeles Cemetery.
