Hendrik C. Van Ysseldyk

March 24, 1933 — April 3, 2015

Hendrick “Van” van Ysseldyk, age 82, of Bellingham, passed away April 3, 2015. He was born March 24, 1933 Arnhem, The Netherlands.

While serving in the Dutch Merchant Marine, Van became enamored with the United States and decided to emigrate from the Netherlands in 1959. Van moved from Southern California to Bellingham in 1987, transferring the business he owned and operated, Vanco Connector Corp., an electrical components manufacturing business. He enjoyed backgammon, reading, current events, his dog Jack, boating and life in Bellingham.

Van was preceded in death by his first wife Anneke van Klaveren, second wife Capy McElvennie and his brother Phillip. He is survived by his partner, Marlene Childress and family, his children, Robert van Ysseldyk, Victoria van Ysseldyk and Buck van Ysseldyk, sister Arienne Bosveld, and many loving relatives and friends. His cantankerous personality, empathy, generosity and loyalty will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Van’s life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 10th at the Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Point Park, 2600 N. Harbor Loop Dr. in Bellingham.
