Holly Telfer

January 3, 1951 — October 4, 2024

Bellingham, WA

Holly Alison Telfer passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, October 4, 2024 with her family by her side. She was lovingly cared for in her final days at Silverado Memory Care Community, with invaluable assistance from Whatcom Hospice.

Holly was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was one of six sisters and three foster siblings. Following graduation from the University of British Columbia in 1974, she traveled to Townsville, Australia, where she was involved with nursing education. It was there she met her future husband, Peter. The couple married in Vancouver in 1976 and lived in New York City, Leicester, UK, and Seattle, before eventually settling in Bellingham in 1982.

Holly was devoted to raising her three daughters and being involved with her community. She was committed to the care of mothers and babies and enjoyed her work as a Lamaze instructor and lactation consultant.

Holly loved to travel, cook, volunteer, and celebrate life. She will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, kindness towards all people, and her involvement in the lives of those around her.

Holly was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Church in Bellingham, where she found her spiritual home.

Holly was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Hamilton and father, Leslie Hamilton. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Peter, three adoring daughters, Alison (Andy), Jennifer (Sean), and Jillian (Graham), and five grandchildren, Ethan, Thomas, Sydney, Khari, and Griffin.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer.
