Irene Kuehnel passed away October 25th, 2012 in Bellingham. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born August 17th, 1930 in Vancouver B.C. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Pete Kuehnel, daughters Teresa Hiebert and Laurie Kuehnel, son Patrick Kuehnel and daughter-in-law Kim Kuehnel. Irene had five grandchildren that she took great pride and joy in: John, Lucas, Molly, Alex, and Ryan. Irene loved her childhood home of White Rock, B.C., and spent many summer days on the beach, eating fish and chips and swimming. Irene loved cats and dogs and instead of flowers would be happy if donations in her name were made to the Whatcom Humane Society, for their new facility. A Celebration of Irene’s life will be held Tuesday, October 30th at 11 AM at Westford Funeral Home, 1301 Broadway in Bellingham. A reception will follow. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
