Jack H. Heller, age 99, of Bellingham, WA passed away on October 15, 2015. He was born in Limestone, WA on June 27, 1916 to Noah and Agnes (Pitsch) Heller.
Jack was a Lone Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Mt. Baker High School and attended college at Western. Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was selected for Officer Candidate School and continued to serve in the Army Reserves for over 20 years, attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. He married Dorothy Holcek on October 16, 1945 in Germany. After the war Jack and Dorothy returned to Whatcom County to raise their family. He resumed his career as an Accountant with Cunocar Accounting in Bellingham. Jack was a longtime member of Church of the Assumption. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, bowling, shooting pool, and spending time with his family.
Jack was preceded in death by his son John M. Heller and sisters Margie Duncan and Ellen Wight. He is survived by his wife Dorothy C. Heller of Bellingham; children, Cathe (Bill) Quapp of Heber City, UT, Dorothy McCleery of Lynden, Loris (Paula) Heller of Richland, WA, Teresa (Karl) Swope of Port Orchard, WA, Jerry (Regina) Heller of Lynden and Paul (Tiffany) Heller of St. George, UT. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers, Frank and Bob Heller, sisters, Dorothy Courtman and Marian Stangeland and many loving relatives and friends.
A Vigil Service will be held at Westford Funeral Home at 7 PM on Thursday, November 5th. Mass of Christian Burial at Church of the Assumption at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 6th. Reception following.
