Jacob J. Eigenbrood

Born in Sassenheim, Holland to Dirk and Maria Eigenbrood, Jacob passed away on March 29, 2023.
His family immigrated to Canada when he was young and they later settled in Washington State in the 1970’s. Jake’s daughter Michele was born in Seattle in 1973 and Erica was born in 1981 in Bellingham. He worked for ARCO in Ferndale where he met his future wife, Daisy Wong, who was a chemical engineer. They were married in November of 1993 and their jobs took them all over the U.S., living in California, Texas, and South Carolina. They spent their retirement in Whatcom County, enjoying their beloved dogs, Molly, Kiara, Star, Red, and Gary.
Daisy preceded in him death in December, 2022. His daughter, Erica Eigenbrood-Chapin, passed away unexpectedly one day after him on March 30th. He is survived by his daughter, Michele (Rick) Smith and their children, Dylan, Bailey (Joe), Anissa and her daughter Oaklynn, and Faith (Ethan), and Erica’s husband Curtis Chapin and their child, Blu.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Skagit County.
A memorial service for Jake and his wife, Daisy Wong-Eigenbrood, will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 1:00pm at Westford Funeral Home.
