James “Jim” May, a life-long resident of Bellingham passed away peacefully on August 8, 2016 at Whatcom Hospice House at the age of 74. He was the only son of William and Lillian (Kalberg) May, born February 11, 1942 and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1960.
Jim is survived by his partner of 25 years Lowell Wester and numerous cousins. Jim worked in construction and also spent several years working on the Alaska Pipeline. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed one trip in particular where he and Lowell drove across North America from Bellingham, Washington to St. Johns, Newfoundland (Canada) and back in the summer of 2007.
A private gathering will be held later.
