Janet S. Straka

Janet Straka entered into rest on December 15, 2022. She was born to Donald and Dorothy (Kordahl) Hoffman on March 31, 1950 in Bellingham, WA and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1968.
Janet was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County and attended Faith Lutheran Church. She also worked as an Ombudsman for Olympic Health Management.
A gifted quilter and baker, Janet frequently donated her homemade creations to people in need and to the Humane Society. She was a lover of all animals, but especially cats. She was also involved with Faith Lutheran Church and participated often in their Aid Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janet is survived by her children, Keri (Alan Rhodes) Straka, Brett Straka, and Maegan (Joshua) Cormier; and grandchildren, Jasper, Orion, Dosalena Straka-Rhodes, and Odin Cormier.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11am at Faith Lutheran Church, 2750 McLeod Rd, Bellingham. A reception will follow.
Donations may be made in her name to Whatcom Humane Society.
