Born December 12, 1943, in Bellingham to parents Lewis and Helen (Miller) Turner, Jan passed away on December 5, 2024, in her Bellingham home.
Jan had happy memories of her childhood and of growing up in the Lakeway neighborhood. She cherished her years at Bellingham High School and went on to graduate from Western Washington University. She worked as a program director at WWU until her retirement.
Jan enjoyed art, both creating and collecting. She also liked classic movies, football, estate sales, and loved animals - especially cats.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Roehl Jr.; son, Carl F. Roehl III; and parents, Lewis and Helen Turner.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Mary Helen Roehl; brothers-in-law, William Roehl (Kelli), Thomas Roehl (Linda), and Nicholas Roehl (Su); and sisters-in-law Rosemary Westover (Bill) and Cecilia Roehl (Bill); and many nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whatcom Humane Society, or PeaceHealth Whatcom Hospice.
