Jean Dodd, age 89 passed away March 1, 2011 in Bellingham. She was born November 14, 1921 in Oklahoma City, OK. Jean was a lifelong educator and taught first grade for most of her teaching career. She was a collector of many things and enjoyed crocheting, gardening and growing flowers. Jean had strong opinions and never hesitated to share her thoughts with others.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Lewis and her grandson Michael. She is survived by her son Paul (Beverly) Dodd, daughters Myra Brookreson and Elva Giddings, grandchildren Debra, Leesa, Beth, Will and Nate and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives.
A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Monday, March 7th at 11 AM. Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband Lewis in Longview, WA.
Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice or the Whatcom Humane Society.
