Jena E. Jacoby

Jena E. Jacoby, age 47, died peacefully with family and friends by her side on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham. She was born February 25, 1969 in Bellingham to Duane and Bonnie (Leenstra) Jacoby.

Jena was known for her smile, her big dimples, her infectious cackle and her wonderful sense of humor. She was a loving companion, a genuine friend, and a strong, independent, and tenacious woman. Jena was a great cook and had a passion for horses and pets. She cared deeply for her family and community in the South Fork Valley, where she lived her entire life.

Jena is survived by her three children, Jessica Strachila, Jameson (Jessica) Strachila and Jarin Strachila, former husband Jim Strachila, father Duane Jacoby, mother Bonnie (Rich) O’Connor, three brothers, Wade (Kendra) Jacoby, Eric (Nikki) Jacoby and Darin (Kathy) Jacoby, sister Jeni (Ken) Marr, and many loving relatives and friends.

Memorials in Jena’s name may be made to the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center, 3301 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA 98225.

A gathering to celebrate Jena’s life will be held at 2826 Valley Highway in Deming on Saturday, October 8th at 1 PM.
