11/01/1921-07/26/2011
Jerry was born in York, NE, on November 1, 1921 and passed away on July 26, 2011 in Bellingham, WA, surrounded by her family. After graduating from college, Jerry enlisted in the WAVES and was transferred to Seattle. When the war ended she moved to San Francisco, CA, where she resided and worked for many years. Sick of the fog, she relocated to Marin County, CA, joining her sister, Esther, and her family who lived in a neighboring town. It was during this time that she became the much beloved “Aunt Jellybean” to her sister’s three daughters and later their children and grandchildren.
After her retirement from the County of Marin, CA, Jerry travelled extensively and eventually moved to Bellingham to live with her niece, Phyllis and her husband Dave, in their home. It was in Bellingham that she became Aunt Jellybean to another generation of little ones. Jerry was active at the Bellingham Senior Center for years. In recent years Jerry loved to have visitors and to visit her Bellingham family in their homes. Having long leisurely lunches with her niece and grand-nieces was always her favorite way to pass an afternoon.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Judge Charles E. and Marie Sandall, seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by nieces Phyllis (David) Black and their children: Jerry’s grand –niece and goddaughter Lisa (Matthew) Crosier, their children Anastasia and Hope, grand-niece Suzanne (Joseph) Shrock, their children Brannon and Addison, all of Bellingham; grand nephew David “Randy” (Jennifer) Black and their daughter Kyla, of Kenmore, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
