10/17/1925 – 11/27/2011
Lifetime Bellingham resident Jerry Paolergio, age 86, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on November 27, 2011. As a commercial fisherman Jerry owned and operated the Andrew Z. II for decades. Jerry loved watching sports, especially football and baseball and his favorite spot was in front of the TV. Jerry had a special sense of humor and could make light of anything. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Margaret Lorenzo, Susie LaPlant, Vivian Prettyman and Ida Nelson. He is survived by niece Tina LaPlant, nephew Jeffrey LaPlant, longtime companion Joanne Stull and many loving relatives and friends. The historic Paolergio home where Jerry was raised was on the property where Westford Funeral Home now stands. Jerry always said he wanted his funeral to be “in the kitchen,” since the kitchen of the home was where the front of the chapel is now. A visitation for Jerry will be held at Westford’s on Thursday, December 8th from 3-5 PM. A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at Westford’s on Friday, December 9th at 11 AM followed by a reception. Memorials may be made to the Whatcom Humane Society or Whatcom Hospice.
