Joan L. Wear

Joan Wear, age 84 of Ferndale, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2014. She was born September 15, 1930 in Bellingham, WA to Robert and Jean (Turner) Walsh. She married Donald K. Wear, Sr. in 1951. Joan loved to be outside working in the garden and she grew beautiful African violets. She loved animals, knitting and crocheting and crossword puzzles. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Donald K. Wear, Sr. and brothers Barney, Bill and Bob. She is survived by her children Donald K. Wear, Jr. (Leslie), Jeanice DeJong (Harvey), and Frank Carter Wear, sister Barbara (Richard) McCollum, and many loving grandchildren, relatives and friends. Memorials may made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Washington. A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home at 11 AM on Monday, November 17th. A reception will follow.
