Joann Mirante, of Bellingham, WA, passed away March 30, 2016. She was 83, born in Seattle, WA on November 14, 1932 to John and Mary (Felice) Miori. She graduated from Holy Rosary High School and married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur Mirante on October 16, 1954. They raised their family in Burien and attended St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Joann enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, reading, politics and current events. Her family, faith and church were most important to her. In 2002 Joann moved to Bellingham to be near her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1989 and her sister Marlene Dymarkowski. She is survived by her three daughters; Lori (Vince) Huard of Bellingham, Mary (Jose) Bartolo of Seattle and Geralyn (Joe) Marley of Renton, grandchildren Nicole (Josh) Martensen and Ryan Huard, sister Carol (Stefan) Pilcic, many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Auntie Jo and other loving relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 15246 21st Ave SW in Burien at 11:30 AM on Monday, April 4th. Reception following. Committal will follow at Riverton Crest Cemetery. The family would like to thank all her Hospice caregivers and her Visiting Angel Diana. Memorials in Joann’s name may be made to Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
