Joann King, age 77 passed away peacefully on April 15, 2012. She was born January 11, 1935 in Bellingham to Huron and Eva (Lindstrom) Poyser. Joanne married Dick King on May 8, 1954. They lived internationally for many years including 17 years in Panama where she worked as a volunteer with the Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn Hook. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dick, son Rick M. King, grandchildren Paul (Cande) King and their son Nicky, Donna Griffin, Ricky M. King and Laura E. King, Rick’s former wife Carolyn King, brother Robert (Barbara) Poyser, nephew Randy Hook, cousin Kenneth (Barbara) Holland, Dick’s siblings Vivian Rowe, Robert King, Ted King, and Don (Peggy) King, and many loving relatives and friends. An 11:30 AM lunch reception followed by a 12:30 PM Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, April 26 at Christ the King Community Church, 4173 Meridian St. in Bellingham.
