John E. Corliss, age 80 of Bellingham, passed away on January 4, 2013. He was born on November 24, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to Earle and Helen Corliss. John graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Physics and a Masters in Business Administration. John went on to be a manager at Lockheed in Sunnyvale, CA. After retiring, John and his wife Judy moved to Bellingham where they have enjoyed 25 wonderful years. His retirement activities included playing tennis, boating, curling and volunteering for many civic organizations including the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra where he was Executive Director for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Judy, three children, Mike Corliss (wife Lynda), Debbie Davis (husband Tom), and Cathy Corliss, grandchildren, Jennifer (husband Greg), Nikki, Libby, Tyler (wife Kim) and Michelle, four great-grandchildren, and many wonderful friends. Memorials may be made to the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra or Whatcom Hospice. A Celebration of John’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home at 11 AM on Friday, January 11, 2013 with a reception following at Westford’s Broadway Hall.
