John Michael Heller was called to God on July 10, 2011 at the age of 63. He was born June 2, 1948 to Jack and Dorothy Heller and was raised in Bellingham. He attended Assumption School and Bellingham High School, graduating in 1966. He served in the US Navy in Vietnam from 1966 to 1971 aboard the USS Agerholm DD826. Upon returning from Vietnam John worked for Georgia Pacific for 33 years. He attended Whatcom Community College and earned an AA in welding, graduating with honors in 2003. He worked at the Whatcom County Courthouse from 2005 to 2011. John enjoyed model railroading, fishing and hunting. John is survived by his parents, 3 sisters Cathe Quapp (William) of Heber, UT, Dorothy McCleery of Butte, MT, and Teresa Swope (Karl) of Port Orchard. 3 brothers Loris Heller (Paula) of Richland, WA, Jerry Heller (Regina) of Lynden, WA, and Paul Heller (Tiffany) of Las Vegas, NV, 19 nieces and nephews and 3 great-nieces and nephews. All will dearly miss their son, brother and uncle. Memorials in John’s name may be made to Assumption School. A Celebration of John’s life with military honors will be held at Westford’s Broadway Hall on Saturday, August 13th at 11 AM.
