Kathleen Shofner, age 79 of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2011. She was born on April 29, 1931 in Golden, Mississippi to David and Rada (Wood) Graham. Kathleen received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State College for Women. In her early years she worked as a librarian at Fort Benning, Georgia and for the public library service in Orange County, California. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Bellingham where she served as librarian for many years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, the arts, and world travel. Kathleen will be remembered for her charity, devotion, and faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Shofner. Her sister, Juanita Burt of Lakeland, Florida; her son, Stan Shofner of Windsor, California; her daughter, Marta Kusztyk of Aliso Viejo, California; and her grandsons, David Shofner, Brian Shofner, and Alexander Kusztyk, survive her. A memorial service will be held in Lakeland, Florida. Time and date to be announced.
