Kathryn Costello was born in The Dalles, OR on December 31, 1945 to Kenneth G. and Doris M. Foster. She grew up in the Columbia Gorge and graduated from Stevenson High School in Stevenson, WA in 1964. Kathryn completed her nursing studies at Portland State University and practiced as a registered nurse in Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, and Washington with a majority of her time spent working in Port Orchard, Bremerton, and Bellingham, WA. She excelled in intensive care and was much loved by those under her leadership. She suffered and fought hard to conquer the multiple illnesses that came her way and her attitude was one of courage and acceptance without self-pity. Kathryn is survived by her loving and faithful husband of seven years, George Costello, her two sons, Kyle Bondo and Kasey McGrady, her mother, Doris M. Foster, her brother, Ken L. Foster, sister, Karolyn K. Baker, and seven grandchildren. She also has been surrounded in love by George’s family which includes six children, Michelle Miller, Mike Costello, Marsha Zankich, Milissa Miller, Martin Costello, and Margaret Smith, along with their spouses, and 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathryn was preceded in death by her brother, Kerry D. Foster and her father. We will miss you Kathryn, you have been a bright light in our lives. A Celebration of Kathryn’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thursday, March 15th at 1 PM followed by a reception across the street at Westford’s Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway.
