Laberta C. McGonigal, age 86 passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in Bellingham. She was born May 4, 1926 in Bellingham to Clarence E. and Ruth E. (Turkington) Clemons. Laberta was raised in Acme and graduated from Mt. Baker High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Elks Club and later A-1 Messenger. Family was most important to Laberta. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Clemons. She is survived by her children Larry McGonigal, Randy McGonigal, Jan (husband Richard) Powell and Brian McGonigal, grandchildren Matthew Neyens and his son Mason, Brianne Neyens, Rachel (husband Eric) Zeutenhorst and their daughters Emma and Jaylynn, Randy McGonigal (fiancee Shelby Lockert) and their daughter Amiyah, and many loving relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held at Saxon Cemetery at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 13th.
