Obituary
On April 7th, 2010 Larry passed away at his home at the age of 71.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. He is survived by his wife Betty Sargent; son Marvin Sargent; daughter Connie (Tim) Jewell; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Larry and Betty met in junior high and were high school sweethearts. They married April 12th 1958. He worked for 20 years at Fraser Chevrolet repairing new and used cars. He then worked at Hawley’s Marina for about 4 years repairing boats. Larry was the owner of The Beaver Inn Tavern with his wife. Through the Tavern, he sponsored
softball teams and enjoyed rooting for his team at every game. He also enjoyed playing shuffleboard and darts with all his closest friends.
After retiring Larry spent winters in Arizona with his wife at their seasonal home. They returned to Bellingham every summer to enjoy their family and their river front home they built together. There he loved sitting in his recliner in the early mornings and watching the river flow by while drinking his coffee.
Larry will be greatly missed but great memories will always be shared between family and friends.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Saturday, April 17th at 10 AM.

Dear Betty, Connie and Marvin, What a shock. We are sad and yet we celebrate his life and new beginning. I don’t think he had any enemies, a fun loving man with great attitude and humor. He will be missed but never forgotten. We have many fond memories with our families. There were no strangers, only friends he hadn’t met yet. He loved his family. Love, Jim and Carol Hitz “I will never leave or forsake thee.” Hope the peace that passeth all understanding will be your at this time.

My goodness, looking back through the years, I don’t know where to begin. The memories just continue to flow. We met at the stock car races and that friendship continued through so many years. The fun Beaver Construction had building our deck, our many boating adventures, swimming in your pool…the memories go on and on. Although Larry is no longer with us, the memories will remain forever. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Betty, Marvin and Connie. Larry may be gone but he will never be forgotten.

Betty, Connie and Marv, I share in your loss. Larry was my “second Dad” growing up, and god knows he had his hands full with the three of us. I have many fond memories, mostly of the swimming pool, shuffleboard, and the beaver Inn. My heart goes out to all of you, as you have lost a BIG part of your lives. Hold on to the memories, cause there sure is some good ones. I would sign this Jodi, but I don’t think I ever heard Larry said my name, so I will close with the one he always called me. Jo

Dear Sargent Family. We are sorry to hear of your loss. We’ve known Larry for a lot of years and between being on several Beaver Inn dart teams and up on the Skagit River throughout several years, got to know Larry and Betty very well. We’ll keep the fond memories close to our hearts. At least Larry’s pain free and he’s at peace. Betty, we hope to see you again soon. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Our condolences. John and Linda Jensen
