Laurian Marie Andrews, born March 24, 1924 in New Haven, CT to Harold F. & Grace (nee Lane) Richter died March 25, 2016 in Bellingham, WA.
Laurian was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Waterbury, CT and Columbia University in New York, NY. She worked as an instructor in clinical medical nursing at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York. She served in the Navy Nurse Corps from 1956– 1958 and married Robert P. Andrews on November 30, 1957. Laurian continued in her nursing career for many years, retiring from Needham’s Nursing Home in Bellingham. She enjoyed reading and volunteering with St. Vincent DePaul Society and was active in Assumption Parish.
She is survived by her husband Robert; son John (Marie); grandchildren Robert (Corey) Andrews, Christopher Andrews, and Shannon (Parker) Andrews. She is further survived by her sister Jane M. Smart of Naples, FL; nephews Larry Mann, Brian Mann, Harold Mann, Michael Mann and Brian Andrews; and nieces Linda Casey, Sarah Burke, Patty Andrews and Laura Casey.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 2nd at Church of the Assumption in Bellingham, WA. Reception following at the church. Interment will be at Bayview Cemetery.
