Lena Farley, age 92 passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Bellingham on Monday, October 10, 2011. She was born April 2, 1919 in Prince, WV to Lundy and Amy (Morgan) Farley. Lena was generous, caring and grateful for everything in life. She was full of life, adventurous, and loved meeting new people. Lena was young at heart, independent and had impeccable style. She retired at age 72 as the Women’s apparel buyer at Raleigh’s in Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her brother Lawrence and sisters Beulah, Charlotte and Stella. She is survived by her daughter Carol (husband Sam) Raines, granddaughter Amy (husband Tony) Zender and their children Leland and Lena, brother Lundy “Buck” (wife Lucille) Farley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice House, 2806 Douglas Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225. A celebration of Lena’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Friday, October 14th, 2011 at 11 AM followed by a reception. Committal will follow at Bayview City Cemetery.
