Lenny Hovde, age passed away peacefully on February 14, 2012 in Bellingham.
She was born July 29, 1927 in Bellingham to Leonard and Elsie Wardman. She graduated from Bellingham High School and Western Washington University. She married M. Jack Hovde on July 3, 1948 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bellingham. Together they owned and operated the Hovde Tree Farm at the South end of Lake Whatcom for over 48 years.
She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Daughters of the King and the sewing guild. She enjoyed skiing, boating, birdwatching and traveling. She was an excellent homemaker and she made amazing pies. Lenny dearly loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister Connie. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack, sons Steve (Jan), Tom (Miki), Gary (Margie), daughter Nancy (Bob) White, grandchildren Lisa, Krista (Corban), Matthew, Chrystol (Schuyler), Susan (Dustin), Bryan (Roxanne), Carl, David (Sarah), Blake and Brinn, great-grandchildren Cameron, Parker, Elias, Jillian, Georgia, Luke and Hudson, brother John Wardman, sister Dorothy Burton, niece Joan and many loving family members and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, Whatcom Hospice House, or the Whatcom County Farm Forestry Association. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 2 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2012 followed by a reception in the Great Hall.
