Lee was born in Seattle, WA on May 22, 1935 to Ralph and Marguerite (Hinton) Hallock. In 1964, his family moved to a 40 acre farm on the Hobart Road in Issaquah. All of his life he loved animals and grew up raising cattle, his grand champion pig, chickens, and rabbits. He spent time swimming at the local swimming hole with his friends and enjoyed church services at Roadside Chapel where he met his future wife, Bobbie. Lee attended Issaquah High School where he participated in FFA classes and worked with local farms to harvest hay and drive tractor. Shortly after he graduated in 1954, Bobbie’s family moved to Phoenix. After continuous letter writing, Lee drove to Phoenix in 1957 and they were married on Friday, September 13. The following January they moved back to Issaquah and, in 1958, their son Gregory Lee was born. Lee was a loving, compassionate, and devoted husband, father, family member, and friend. He was a faithful Christian man and his desire was that everyone he met he would meet again in Heaven. In 1968, Sound Elevator offered and Lee accepted their Local Representative Service Technician position in Bellingham. Leaving family and friends was difficult. In 1973, Lee and Bobbie lost their precious son Gregory, a loss that never ended. He loved sailing on Bellingham Bay with the crew of the Honker. After retiring in 1995 from Dover Corporation (formerly Sound Elevator), Lee immediately attacked a long list of To Do’s created by Bobbie and completed every one. She called his To Do List the RCH’s (Revised Codes of Hallock). He took up golf and enjoyed Raspberry Ridge with his buddies twice a week. Lee maintained his property mowing the lawn, growing wonderful fruit and vegetables in his enclosed gardens, working various construction projects, building a 60’ log retaining wall, and maintaining fences, all with his Can Do Attitude.
Lee was preceded in death by his beloved son, Gregory Lee; his parents; and his oldest brother, Jim.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bobbie; brother, Herb (Peggy) of Yuma, AZ; sister, Rita of Issaquah; nieces, Debbie, Lisa, Annette, Kimm (Johnathan), Aria (Brian), and Shirlee; nephew, Jeff (Jessica) Rehn of Covington, WA; sister-in-law, Iola (Paul) Rehn of Kent, WA; and 14 grand nieces and nephews.
Reflecting on his humble beginnings, Lee lived his life well by loving God, sharing generously, and holding respect for all. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
