Leslie Kiel

July 18, 1969 — March 10, 2021

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Leslie Rae Kiel who left this world peacefully and was welcomed into heaven on March 10, 2021. Beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Leslie was born in Bellingham, WA to Robert and Clara (DeVries) Kiel and she grew up in Lynden, WA where she spent her childhood years.
Leslie attended Ebenezer and Lynden Christian schools and graduated from Lynden Christian High School. After high school she worked in retail and other service industry positions.
Her son Joren, who was born on May 6, 1992, to Leslie and her former husband John Feenstra, was her pride and joy. In 2003 she moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona where she became a massage therapist and the owner operator of her own Salon.
Serving others was a passion of Leslie’s. She had a nurturing spirit and many benefited from her natural gift of hospitality. She loved to bake and cook. She had a flair for stylish fashion ensembles which most often integrated shades of her favorite color pink. She was adored by her nieces and nephews who had tons of fun with her at slumber parties that always included her famous monster cookies and cheeseburgers for breakfast. Leslie also found joy in caring for her dogs, especially Miss Mia. She was a beautiful human being who was kind and loved by all who knew her.
Leslie most recently lived outside of Las Vegas, NV with her partner Charlie, who loved her dearly.
Leslie is survived by her mother, Clara Kiel, and her son, Joren Feenstra. She is also survived by her brother, Harlan Kiel, sisters Laura (Al) Smit, Linda (Lynn) Vander Yacht, JoAn (Chris) Steiner, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Kiel.
In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Leslie’s memory, we ask that all who wish to participate make a donation to the Western Arizona Humane Society. Donations may be made by accessing the website at www.westernarizonahumane.org or by mail at the following address:
