Linda Anne Wilson Welshons, 78, passed away on August 1, 2017 surrounded by her family in Bellingham, WA. She was born in Portland, Maine to Colonel Ernest Wilson and Blanche Ward Wilson. They moved to Seattle, WA where Linda attended Lincoln HS and met the love of her life, Ronald Patrick Welshons.
Linda was a selfless, stylish, smart, witty, and extremely generous woman. She was a dedicated mother and wife, and the most amazing grandmother. Linda had a thirst for knowledge and was a voracious reader, an ultra-talented seamstress, a gourmet chef, and excellent entertainer. She loved to travel all over the world with friends and family. She worked with Ron to help grow his businesses, and later spent the lion’s share of her career working at Safeco Insurance Co. in the State Filings department.
Linda fought a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia; a terribly unfair fate for such an awesome human being.
Her parents and sister, Jane Wilson Ramsey preceded Linda in death. She is survived by her husband, Ron Welshons of 57 years, daughters, Elizabeth Anne Welshons; Margo Blanche (Mark) Allan and their kids, Elliott and Luke Allan; and Kristina Dawn (Jim) Gruett and their son, Kristian Gruett; sister, Peg Thornton, and cousin, Patty (Kent) Powell.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for Linda throughout her journey. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in Linda’s memory to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation 2901 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham, WA 98225.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Broadmoor Golf & Country Club in Seattle from 3-6pm. Share your memories of Linda at
