Lucie M. Campbell, age 97, passed away January 2, 2011 in Bellingham. She was born December 13, 1913 in Lankin, ND to Joseph and Anna Rose Matejcek. Lucie was a registered nurse at Swedish Hospital for over 30 years. She married Walter G. Campbell on May 3, 1943 at Immaculate Conception in Seattle. Lucie led a very spiritual life. She was an active parishioner at Blessed Sacrament in Seattle for over 50 years and Church of the Assumption since moving to Bellingham in 1992. Lucie enjoyed traveling and having a good time with her friends and family. Lucie was positive, optimistic, generous and caring towards others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt. She is survived by her daughter Carole of Bellingham, sons Stanley (Kay) of Bellingham, William (Mary) of Sagle, ID and Robert (Laurie Shannon) of Olympia, 11 grandchildren, Patrick Maher, Erinn (Jerry) Shaw, Molly (Tom) Dal Soglio, Cassandra (Curtis) Minton, Anna, Robin, Allison, Michael (Katie), Matthew (Justine), Julianne, and Saralyn Campbell.
Memorials may be made to Church of the Assumption. A Vigil Service will be held at Westford’s on Friday, January 7 at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Saturday, January 8 at 2 PM, followed by a reception at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall, 1110 14th St. Entombment will be Monday, January 10th at 12 Noon at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, 205 NE 205th, Shoreline, WA, 98155.
