Lucille Van Horn, age 90, of Bellingham, WA, went peacefully to sleep Wednesday morning, April 12, 2017 in the hope of the soon second coming of Christ. Lucille was born on July 8, 1926 in Conway, IA to Clarence and Isabelle Kendall. She married Jim Van Horn in Mason City, IA, on June 15, 1947. In earlier years Lucille was an elementary school teacher and worked as an LPN in later years. She was active in her local church as a leader and a greeter. Others were drawn to Lucille’s outgoing personality and she often visited church members in their homes. Lucille enjoyed quilting, gardening and reading her bible. She dearly loved spending time with her grandkids and her animals. Lucille was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2004, and grandson Tyler Rottacker in 2016. She is survived by her four children, Marvin Van Horn, Rhonda Van Horn, Rita Van Horn and Denise (Dean) Rottacker, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many loving relatives and friends. Services will be held at Bellingham Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5353 Washke Rd. in Bellingham at 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 22nd. Reception will follow at the church.
