Margaret M. Worthington, age 90, went home to our Lord on October 13, 2013. She was born May 29, 1923 in Au Train, MI to Louis and Margaret LaMont. During Margaret’s life journey she worked at a parachute factory during World War II in Detroit, MI. She married Lewis M. Worthington on August 2,1947. He preceded her in death in 1957. She moved to Bellingham in 1964, she worked for Shuksan Nursing Home, St. Luke’s Hospital, Whatcom Medical, Visiting Nurses and was a medical secretary for the Mason Clinic in Seattle. She also was a housekeeper/cook for three priests in Seattle. Margaret enjoyed all of these positions. Widowed at age 34, Margaret most valued being a mother. Margaret liked to write poetry and published one volume, “Michigan Poems”. She liked taking long walks, sewing, reading and playing piano and accordion. She was a member of Assumption Church Rosary Group and did volunteer work for Assumption Church and the Senior Center. She was proud to have sponsored two sons and two daughters in Christ from India in their religious vocations. Margaret is survived by son Robert (Cathy) Worthington of Marietta, GA, daughter Faye (Terry) Nieuwendorp of Bellingham, WA, son George (Peggy) Worthington of Monroe, OR, sisters Juanita Passinault of Ohio and Bernice (Paul) VanDyke of Lynden, WA, sister-in-law Alice LaMont of Bellingham, WA, brother James (Carol) LaMont of Munising, MI, numerous grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home from 2-4 PM on Thursday, October 17th. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5781 Hendrickson Rd. in Ferndale at 11 AM on Friday, October 18th.
