Margie (Marjorie Jane) Masters

October 2, 1920 — September 23, 2018

Margie Masters went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunite with her loved ones on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Margie was born October 2, 1920 in Aurora, IL. She almost made it to her 98th Birthday. Margie graduated from East Aurora High School, attended Aurora College and was a graduate from Ritchie Secretarial School. She worked at Pictorial Paper Package Corporation as a secretary in Aurora before she moved to Vancouver, WA in 1941. During WWII she worked at Kaiser Shipyard as a secretary. Margie moved to Bellingham, WA after the war and worked for Dr. Robert Kaiser and the Whatcom County Library. Margie met William Masters on a blind date and they were married in May 1951. They were married for 62 years until Bill went to heaven in April of 2014. Margie was also preceded in death by her parents, Gretchen and Day Hedberg. In 1980, Margie co-founded Old Town Christian Ministries (OTCM). She helped so many people in our community for the past 38 years. The reading of the Bible was very important to Margie and she was so thankful she had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Margie loved jazz music and the sounds of the saxophone; she enjoyed dancing and had the pleasure of meeting Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. Margie enjoyed playing golf and tennis, cooking and baking. She loved being with her family, they were such a blessing to her. Margie is survived by two daughters, Mary (Masters) Romond (husband Dean “D.J.”) and Heidi (Masters) Unick, four grandchildren, Nathan and Sean Romond and Amy and Carrie Unick and great-grandson William Dudley Malliot.
Family found two precious notes Margie wanted to share -
To My Family “Thank-you for all your never ending love and all your wonderful tender loving care you gave to me. I couldn’t have made it without you. BLESS YOU!!!”
“My heart felt thanks from the bottom of my heart to my doctors, dentist, chiropractors, and all their great staff for taking such good care of me. My thanks to the WTA drivers and phone operators for wonderful service that they gave to me. God Bless You All!!”
