Mari-Lon Waid, of Ferndale, WA, passed away at her home on November 9, 2016. She was born in Puyallup, WA on May 13, 1932 to Alonzo and Marion (Pratt) Spencer.
She was predeceased by her parents and first husband Richard Green. She is survived by her husband, Jarold "Sparky" Waid, her five children, Allan (Debbie) Green, Joel (Laurie) Green, Lonna (Curt) Thompson, Nancy Sanford (Mark Graham), and Sharon (Kelly) Beerman; mother-in-law Vivian Waid; step-daughter Lori (Lenny) Graves, step-son Larry Buchanan Jr. brother-in-law Larry (Barbara) Green; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, and childhood friend Donna Stanford.
Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice or PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center. Many will remember her from her 32 years at Sehome or the Geneva group and other volunteer activities in the community. She is most admired for her inner strength, enduring spunk and spirit, and loyalty and love for friends and family. She rarely asked for much and gave what she could. In lieu of a memorial all she hoped for with her passing is for those near and dear to raise a toast for the many good times shared.
A private family gathering will be held.
