Marilyn Barone-Strutz, age 69, passed away peacefully in Bellingham on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. She was born June 3, 1950 in Portland, OR to Louis and Dorothy Barone. Marilyn graduated from Marycrest High School in 1968 and went on to earn her RN degree. She married David Strutz on September 20, 1980 in Portland and soon after started a family together. In the summer of 1993 they moved to Kennewick, WA where Marilyn and David raised their children through their high school years. Marilyn enjoyed singing, operas, Hallmark movies, and shopping. Most of all Marilyn enjoyed making events and holidays special for her family. David and Marilyn moved to Bellingham in 2008 where they quickly formed new friendships and started to welcome grandbabies into the world. Marilyn was an active member of Church of the Assumption where she enjoyed singing with the choir and volunteering her time. She will be remembered as a kind and fun loving person, a dedicated daughter, a loving wife, a compassionate mother, and a silly, loving nana. She had a huge heart that could "feel all the feels" which always made "her tears spill over." Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband David, three children, Angela (Ryan) Miller, Joel Strutz, and Sarah Strutz (fiancé Andrew Sloan), grandchildren Daliah, Everett and Celine, Andrew’s daughter Madison, brother Jerry (Linda) Barone, and many loving relatives and friends. Vigil Service will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Monday, October 28th at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Tuesday, October 29th at 1:30 PM with reception following.
