Marjorie L. Evans, age 91 of Bellingham passed away peacefully on November 17, 2015. She was born May 14, 1924 in South Euclid, OH to Lionel and Mable McConville.
Marjorie married Dr. Ernest “Ed” Evans in 1949. She attended Ohio University and later USC, where she earned her B.A. in music. Marjorie taught piano for many years and was known for her two baby grand pianos in her home. She and her husband Ed were true “globe-trotters.” Ed was awarded grants to study marine biology, which allowed them to travel and work around the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Evans and her brother-in-law Richard Kersey. Marjorie is survived by her sister Eileen Kersey of Bellingham, nephew Steve Kersey (wife Gerri Rea) of Bellingham and their daughter Cassie, nephew Richard Kersey, Jr. (wife Jeannie) of Maryland and their children Justin, Rachel and David, niece Elizabeth Kersey of Alaska, and many loving friends.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Brookdale Fairhaven for their seven years of care. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24th.
