Marlene (Trecker) Wolf, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023 at her home in Bellingham, WA. Marlene was a lifelong resident of Bellingham, born on February 5, 1936 to Carl and Frances (Mark) Trecker. Marlene graduated from Bellingham High School in 1954. She enjoyed her high school years and the lifelong friends she made there. She was a proud member of the Pep Club and Rainbow Girls. She continued to be active with the Class of ‘54 Reunion Committee until their 68th Class Reunion in 2022. Marlene was a member of Church of the Assumption, serving on several committees through the years.
In 1953, she met the love of her life, Del Wolf, while she was working at Hall’s Bakery. They were married on March 18, 1955, at Assumption Church and were blessed with three children: Steven, Jennifer, and Stanley.
Marlene began her working career as a switchboard operator for the local telephone company, then at Seattle First National Bank as a bank teller. Marlene then went to work at WWU. She was in the continuing education department organizing large training conferences, then moved to the admissions office and retired from WWU as an office manager in the counseling center.
Her retirement years were spent traveling extensively with her husband and love of her life, Del. They enjoyed winter months traveling in their RV to Arizona with family and friends. Marlene's family will miss her kindness and her gentle and loving spirit.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 68 years, Del, and their three children: Steven Wolf (wife Tanja), Jennifer Wolf (husband John Young), Stanley Wolf (wife Trina); her six grandchildren, Amanda Wolf, Bradley Wolf, Derek Wolf, Grady Wolf, Madelaine Wolf, Jesse Young (wife Kayla), and great-grandchild Wyatt. She is also survived by her sister Diane Trecker. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Marty Trecker.
A vigil prayer service will be held on Monday, August 7th at 5pm at Westford Funeral Home, 1301 Broadway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at 10:30am at Church of the Assumption in Bellingham, followed by committal at Bayview Cemetery. A reception will follow at Westford's Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Community Services.
