Martha Sweeney

Martha Sweeney, age 77 of Bellingham passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Hospice House. She was born August 8, 1938 in Port Glasgow, Scotland to Patrick and Margaret Carroll.

Martha was well known for her faith and devotion to the Catholic Church. She touched the lives of many parishioners while working as an administrative assistant at Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her brother Patrick Carroll. She is survived by her children William Sweeney (Tha), Stephen Sweeney (June), Allison Harris (Ted), Caroline Chapleau (Guy) and Lynn Sweeney (Bryan), grandchildren Claire, Michelle, Catherine, Stephen, William, Erica, Joseph, Kyle, Nicole, Liam and Rachel, great-grandchildren Nolan and Ryan, brother Jim Carroll, sister Margaret Johnstone, former husband William Archer Sweeney, and many loving relatives and friends.

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church as follows; A Vigil Service 7 PM on Thursday, October 22nd. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Friday, October 23rd. Reception following.
