Mary Lou Evans, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2016 at St. Francis Healthcare in Bellingham. She was born June 13, 1926 in Bellingham to Georgette and John Cairns.
Mary lived in Bellingham her entire life. She graduated from Bellingham High School in the class of 1943. She worked downtown at J.C. Penney’s and Montgomery Ward and later for Quickie Marts. She volunteered at the Salvation Army Church and Thrift Store for over 20 years. They appreciated Mary and she enjoyed being there. Mary was a loving and quiet person who enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandchildren Stacy and Chad Evans. Mary is survived by her son Gage (wife Jill) of Anacortes, grandson Jacob Evans of Skagit Valley, great-grandson Derrick Bales of Seattle, sisters Dorothy Smith of Bellingham and Virginia Cartwright of Yuba City, CA, and many loving relatives and friends. Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
