Longtime resident of Bellingham, Mary J. Stone (née VanLoock), died on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. Joseph Peace Health Medical Center, attended by her immediate family. Born in Ikatan, Alaska, on December 14, 1932 to Francis Aloysius Van Loock and Veronica Anguluk, the vivacious and unforgettable Ms. VanLoock relocated to Bellingham in 1940, where she spent the majority of the next seven decades. Although preceded in death by her four siblings, she is survived by children Forrest Paull (Susan), Jody Johnson (Martin), Melinda Jackson (John), Kim (Valerie) Wiggins (Jenn), and Mary Valente (Fred). Her eight grandchildren - Ron, Eryn, Ryan, Jed, Phillip, Jon Paul, Melanie, and Elizabeth – and five great grandchildren will always remember her irrepressible sense of fun; her penchant for music, theater, dancing, and laughter. To celebrate the beautiful and colorful legacy of Mary’s life, a Celebration of Life will be held on May 13 at 2 p.m. at the Birch Bay Village Community Club, 8181 Cowichan Road, Blaine, WA, hosted by her numerous and grateful descendants.
