Maryann Knight, age 70 of Bellingham, passed away December 31, 2021. She was born October 1951, in Brooklyn, NY to Louis and Sylvia Albanese. She moved to Bellingham, WA in June of 1975 where she was a mother and homemaker for many years. After some time away from the church, Maryann came back and became a dedicated faithful member of the Church of the Assumption, where she spent countless hours making rosaries for others and sharing with friends, family, and people in need. She met Evan Knight when she least expected it and was like a schoolgirl again. Love notes, dates and a wonderful friendship grew. Maryann was a good person, generous and loved paying it forward. She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, and doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles. She loved to cook for a crowd. Maybe that was because she came from such a big family. In recent years this was something she missed most as she was no longer able to do it, though she shared her favorite recipes with staff and other residents at Alderwood nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan Knight in 2009, her parents, and her sisters Lillian Stanzione, Emily Dell’Aquila and Lois Ciabattari. She is survived by her daughters Debbie (Rich) Mellis, and Michelle (Jason) Stupfel, her stepchildren Sharon Knight (Brodie Daniel), Benjamin (Elizabeth) Knight II, William (Teri) Knight, grandchildren Mackenzie, Utah, Henri, Riley, Parker, Aislinn, Madden, Evan II, LaurenElizabeth, Lilliana, Josefina, and Aden, siblings Louis Albanese, Susan (Mike) Guercio, Linda Albanese, and Robert (Kelly) Albanese. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Friday, January 14th at 10:30 AM. Committal will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hope House or Assumption Rosary Makers at Assumption Church, 2116 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham 98225. The Mass will also be streamed at
