Matthew Myron Johnson, of Blaine, WA, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 surrounded by his family. Matt was 34, born in Bellingham, WA on October 27, 1981 to Myron and Cheryl (Weidkamp) Johnson.

He graduated from Ferndale High School in 2000 and earned from BTC a degree in Associate of Applied Science. Matt married Meghan Clark on May 13, 2006 in Ferndale. Matt was a devoted father who cherished his daughters as they were an important part of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, ATVs, football and searching for agates. Matt had a strong love for baby animals. He was known for his great sense of humor and was always making others laugh.

Matt was preceded in death by grandparents Marvin and Doris Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Meghan, daughters Hailey and Paige, parents Myron and Cheryl, grandparents Ron and Donna Weidkamp, brothers Michael and Mitchel, sister Mallory (Brad) Walton and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Birch Bay Bible Community Church, 4460 Bay Rd. in Blaine at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 6th. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, to support Matt’s daughters, contributions may be made to the ‘Hailey and Paige Johnson Fund’ at any WECU Branch.
