Maureen was born in Bellingham, WA to Merritt E. and Barbara (Wyrick) Carr. The oldest of five children, she is survived by her siblings, Steve (Charlene) Carr, Marilyn Kuhns, Susan (Jack) Jones, and Bruce (Karen) Carr.
Maureen graduated from St. Joseph with a Nursing Degree in Bellingham and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Scarritt College in Nashville, TN. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas in Arlington, and her Master’s Degree at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
In 1965, Maureen worked at Brewster Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. She was commissioned in the United Methodist Church that year as a Deaconess. In 1975, Doris and Maureen moved by Greyhound Bus from Jacksonville to Fort Worth. Maureen went to Harris Methodist Hospital where she was Head Nurse on the post-surgical floor. In 1996, she transferred to Hurst-Euless-Bedford Methodist Hospital where she worked on the Rehabilitation Unit. She was awarded Great 100 Nurses that year by the Texas Nursing Association. Maureen retired from the hospital in 2004. At that time she moved to Asheville, NC. During retirement, she served as a parish nurse at Central United Methodist Church. In 2020, Doris and Maureen moved to Huntsville, AL.
Maureen loved to travel across the US and visit Presidential Libraries. She enjoyed watching Western movies and Florida Gator Football.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10th at 11:00AM at Westford Funeral Home followed by a reception. A Graveside Service will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park.
