May Corcoran of Everson, WA passed away Thursday November 12, at Good Samaritan Stafholt Center in Blaine, WA. May was one of eight children, born December 11, 1924 in Bellingham to Louis and Reah May (Mose) Cowan. She grew upon Lummi Island where she lived for 47 years, then made her home in Everson, where she spent most of the remainder of her life.
She enjoyed her garden and flowers and took great pride in mowing her 3 acres of lawn. She loved the old time western music, some of which she sang from memory to her children and grandchildren up until a day before her passing. Gene Autry was her favorite cowboy. The most important thing to her though, was her family and she will be greatly missed.
May was preceded in death by her husband John Corcoran, grandson, David and longtime friend and companion Jim Keehn; brothers Stanley, Louis, and Walter, and sister, June. She is survived by her children, Eileen (John) Hanson, Steve (Leslee) Smith, and Jackie Edin, five grandchildren Angela (Travis), Jennifer, Josh, Jerry (Carlena) and Stephanie (Dave); three great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Max, and Angie; three sisters, Joyce Bowhay, Alice Bowhay and Lois Rhodda and many nieces and nephews.
May's final resting place will be at the Lummi Island Cemetery and a celebration of life will be held on the Island in the spring of 2016.
